Media have already started having a dig at him, just because he has a speech impediment. They never give up.

Don't envy him the job, the media will praise him if the team win, but will criticise him if they lose. Roy is probably the best man for the job, time will tell.

Roy Hodgson says he was not surprised to get the Football Association's call to become the new England manager - despite widespread expectations that Harry Redknapp would succeed Fabio Capello.

FA chairman David Bernstein revealed the four-man selection committee made the decision to move for the West Brom boss a month ago but only announced their formal approach on Sunday.

I still think they should have made the announcement earlier

Well it looks like the FA are in for a stormy ride. They have approached Roy Hodgson to become the next England Manager, ignoring widespread calls for Harry Redknapp to succeed Fabio Capello. There is an outcry from the fans, but I bet Tottenham are pleased as it would have cost them millions to release Harry. Still, nothing is certain at the moment.
